Pet Training and Owner Surrenders
Muddy Paws has several options available to owners considering rehoming their pet.
TRAINING
If the reason you are considering rehoming your dog or cat is behavioral, you might want to consider working with one of our trainers. Our trainers use only RELATIONSHIP BASED/POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT TRAINING, the one and only type of training Muddy Paws supports. They charge $50-$75 per session and often only one session is needed to teach YOU the skills necessary to correct your pet's undesirable behaviors. Both in-home sessions (local only) or phone conferences are available. For trainers contact information please text or call Terri at 402-515-2570
COURTESY POST
If you can keep your pet in your home until an adopter is found, what we call a Courtesy Post is available. Muddy Paws will post, market, and completely screen applicants for you. You will have an opportunity to talk to the applicant and give us feedback as to whether or not you feel the home is a perfect match for your pet. Not only do you get to help choose your pet's new family, but your pet can remain in YOUR home during the process and not have to be moved to a foster home reducing the pet's stress. Muddy Paws still provides a free 30-day money back policy for all pets and free BEHAVIORAL training for dogs adopted out through this program.
FOSTER/INTAKE PROCESS
If you are unable to keep your pet while we find a new home, a foster home may be available. Your pet would live in the home of one of our foster parents while an adopter is found. All pets adopted through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue have a 30-day money back policy and all dogs are qualified to receive free BEHAVIORAL training.
